TCP/IP Network Characteristics
Overview
Introduction
This chapter describes the configuration characteristics for a TCP/IP network. To
enable the access server to operate on a TCP/IP network, you need to:
1)
Configure the Internet address and subnet mask.
2)
Configure the TCP/IP characteristics, for example:
• List of commonly used Internet hosts
• List of gateway addresses
• List of ARP entries
• TCP keepalive timer
3)
Configure domain name characteristics.
In addition, you can configure the access server to automatically learn IP information
from other types of servers on the network.
