To select or change your Answer Mode

Press Mode. The screen displays your current selection.

Or, if TAD Mode is switched ON by pressing
(DIGITAL TAD button), it overrides your Answer
Mode Setting, so the display shows:

Continue to press Mode until your new selection appears. After 2 seconds, the screen returns to
the date and time display, along with your new Answer Mode setting.
Setting the Ring Delay
The Ring Delay setting determines the number of times the machine rings before it answers.
See “Operation from an External or Extension Telephone” on page 42. Also see “For F/T (Fax/
Tel) Mode Only” on page 42.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 1. If you have a FAX-T74, go to Step 3.

Press or to select RING DELAY, and press Menu/Set.

Press or to select how many times the line rings before the machine answers, and press
Menu/Set when the screen displays your selection.

Press Stop to exit.
Setting the F/T Ring Time
You need to determine how long the machine will give its special F/T pseudo-ring when you have a
voice call. This ringing happens after the initial ringing from the phone company. Only the machine
rings for 20, 30, 40, or 70 seconds; no other phones on the same line during the special F/T pseudo-
ring.

and press Menu/Set when the screen displays your selection.
If you’re changing Answer Mode while in another operation, the screen returns to
the current operation display.
