Before You Power Up the Server
TCP/IP properties.
• For IP address, you can set the following:
— Adapter
— IP address (required if DHCP is not used)
— Subnet mask
— Default gateway
• For Domain Name System (DNS), you can set the following:
— Host name
— Domain
— DNS Service search order
— Domain suffix search order
• For Windows Internet Name Services (WINS), you can set the following:
— Adapter
— Primary WINS server (required if DHCP is not used)
— Secondary WINS server
— Enable DNS for Windows resolution
— Enable LMHOSTS lookup
— Scope ID
• For DHCP relay, you can set the following:
— Seconds threshold
— Maximum hops
— DHCP servers
• For Routing, you can set the following:
— Enable IP forwarding
Workgroup or domain name for the server.
Current time zone, date, and time.
New password for the system administrator.
