streaks or
smears appear
on successive
pages.
The HP LaserJet 1100 Printer needs to be
cleaned.
See “Cleaning procedures” in this chapter.
The toner cartridge is damaged. Replace the toner cartridge if
maintenance procedures do not improve
print quality.
There is a problem in the heating element. Perform the “Heating element check,”
which is discussed later in this chapter.
If scanned images have unwanted lines through them:
There is ink, glue, white-out, or some
other substance on the contact image
sensor.

Slick paper caused the document scanner
trouble in scanning.
Use a carrier sheet to send the item.
The HP LaserJet 1100 Printer needs to be
recalibrated.
Recalibrate the product.
