Managing Wi-Fi

Network Connections
This chapter provides instructions for conserving battery power, checking Wi-Fi
®
signal strength, and viewing or editing your Wi-Fi network connection settings.
Turning Wi-Fi on or off
You may want to turn Wi-Fi off if you are not planning on using it for an extended period of time,
but want to leave the card in the expansion slot. As long as Wi-Fi is turned on, the Wi-Fi card uses
a small amount of power even when you are not connected to a network. Wi-Fi turns off
automatically when you remove the card from the expansion slot.

1 In the Applications/Home screen , select Prefs , and then select Wi-Fi.
2 Select Off or On from the Wi-Fi
pick list.
Before you turn off
Wi-Fi, wait a few seconds for the
connection to be re-established,
and then select Off.
