Stand alone instruments
Stand-aloneinstrumentsarenotconnected toSeaTalkand thereforeneed
to be connected to an alternative 12 V power source. Power cables are
available in 2 m and 9 m lengths.
To fit a power cable:
1. Ensure the intended power source is switched off. If you are using a
12 V battery, ensure the power cable is not connected to the battery.
2. Runthe power cable fromtheinstrument to a suitable12 V dc power
source.
3. Ifthe cable has not already been trimmed at the power supply end:
• Cutthecabletolengthandtrimback anappropriateamountofthe
outer sheath.
• Cut back and insulate the yellow wire.
4. Connect the screen to the power supply 0 V terminal.
5. Connect the red wire via a 3 A over-current circuit breaker to the
power supply +12 Vterminal.
