Loading a Document

Open the document tray,
if it is closed.

Turn the page face down.
Adjust the document
guides to match the width
of the document.

Slide the sheet down the
document tray until it is
pulled in the machine.
The machine beeps, and
the automatic document
feeder pulls in the page.
The LCD shows the
message "DOCUMENT
LOADING".
Then the contrast and
resolution settings appear
in the LCD, and you can
adjust them if necessary.

You can insert up to 10 sheets at a
time. If you insert more than one sheet,
make sure the bottom first sheet enters
first. Stagger the leading edges of the
sheets slightly, and insert the sheets
with a very slight push to ensure
smooth feeding.

If you want to add pages while the
fax is sending, insert them into the
loading slot on top of the already loaded
sheets.
If you’re loading pages that are
unusually thick or thin, feed one sheet at
a time.
