Clearingthebuffer/Allreset
The printer storesreceiveddata in a largememorybuffer.This createsa
problemwhenyouwanttoabandonapnntingjob andrestart:theprintermay
beholdingmoredatainitsbufferthanithasactuallyprinted,andthisunprinted
datamustbe clearedoutbeforerestarting.Turningpoweroffis onewayto
clearthebuffer,butthemis anotherway:
1. Halttheprintingpmgramonthecomputer.Ifprintingstopsimmediately,
thebufferisclearandtherestofthisprocedureisumecessary.Ifprinting
doesnot stop,continueas follows:

nowstop,butthemmaybe dataremainingin thebuffer.

secondyouwillhearabeeptoneandthe
“BUFFER CLEAR” messageon

If youholdthesebuttonsmorethreeseconds,youwillhearthreebeep
tonesandthe
“PRINTER RESET” messageon thedisplaysignalingthat
theprinterhasbeeninitializedto thepower-ondefaultsettings.
5. Releasethesebuttons,makeanynecessarycontrolpanelsettings,then
settheprinterbackon-line.
Itisessentialtohalttheprintingprogramonthecomputerbeforeyougooff-
line.Otherwise,whenyougo backon-linethecomputerwillstartsending
dataagainandtheprinterwillcontinueprinting,withmissingdatawherethe
bufferwas cleared.
