Connecting Sound Equipment
Types of sound
equipment
Your computer has a 16-bit sound card, stereo
speakers, and a built-in microphone. By adding
external sound equipment, you can improve the
quality of sound production and increase
convenience. When purchasing external sound
equipment, keep the following in mind.
• Speakers and headphones— connect to the
audio-out port on a DockMate Plus or the
computer; speakers must have own source
of power
• Microphone — connects to the microphone
port on the computer or DockMate Plus
Note: Connecting external sound equipment
disables the corresponding internal sound
functions of the device to which it is connected.
