Scanner Control
The SCANNER CONTROL option of the CONFIGURATION menu allows you
to set the options for how the Scanner starts and finishes a scan. It contains
the following features:
• DOCUMENT RETURN – Tells the Scanner, after the scan, either to
return the document to the front of the Scanner (FRONT), or to drop the
document from the rear of the Scanner into the catch tray (REAR).
REAR is the factory default setting.
NOTE: Refer to Controlling the Scan for additional information.
• AUTOSCAN – Tells the Scanner either to start the scan automatically
when the document is inserted (ENABLED), or to wait until the Start key
is pressed (DISABLED). ENABLED is the factory default setting.
• DYNAMIC IQ When enabled, monitors the image over the width of the
whole document as it is scanned and uses the information to ensure the
best reproduction of the entire image. When not enabled, only monitors a
0.70 inch (17.5 mm) X document width area after the first 1.5 inches
(37.5 mm) of the document is scanned. Then uses this fixed information
to adjust the quality for the entire image being scanned. Enabled is the
default setting .AUTOWIDTH - Enables the automatic detection of the
width of the document. If the feature is disabled, you must enter the
width of the document manually. ENABLED is the factory default setting.
• AUTOCENTER - Enables the automatic centering of the image. If the
feature is disabled, you must center the document during insertion into
the Scanner. ENABLED is the factory default setting.
To set the Scanner control features:
1. Press the Menu key. The MAIN MENU screen is displayed.
2. Press the Enter key to select CONFIGURATION. The
CONFIGURATION menu screen is displayed.
3. Press the Next key until SCANNER CONTROL is highlighted.
4. Press the Enter key to select SCANNER CONTROL. The SCANNER
CONTROL screen is displayed.
5. Press the Previous or Next key to select the desired feature.
6. Press the Enter key to confirm the choice.
7. Press the Previous or Next key to select the desired setting.
For DOCUMENT RETURN, the selections are FRONT and REAR.
FRONT is the factory default setting.
For AUTOSCAN, AUTOWIDTH, DYNAMIC IQ and AUTOCENTER, you
can enable or disable the feature. A check mark in the box to the left of
the feature indicates that the feature is enabled. Enabled is the factory
default setting for these features.
8. Press the Exit key to return to the CONFIGURATION menu screen.
