The following table describes the labels in this screen.
18.4 SNMP Community
SNMP communities act like passwords and are used to define the security parameters of
SNMP clients in an SNMP v1 and SNMP v2c environments. The default SNMP community is
“public” for both SNMP v1 and SNMP v2c before SNMP v3 is enabled. Once SNMP v3 is
enabled, the communities of SNMP v1 and v2c have to be unique and cannot be shared. Use
the SNMP Community screen to create SNMP communities and associate SNMP groups to
them. Click SNMP > Community to view the screen as shown.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.
Table 46 SNMP User: Modify
LABEL DESCRIPTION
User ID This field indicates which user you are modifying.
Click on Remove This User to delete this user configuration from the switch.
Click on Display All User to view the main SNMP User screen.
User Name Edit the name for this SNMP user.
Group Name Select the SNMP group this user should belong to.
SNMP Version Specify the SNMP version this group uses to manage the switch.
Auth Type Authentication can only be configured for SNMP v3.
Select None to allow this user to manage the switch without authentication or select
MD5 and configure the New Key field to force this user to authenticate with the
switch.
Old Key Enter the old MD5 key this user used for authentication, if you are setting up the key
for the first time, leave this field blank.
New Key Enter the new MD5 key this user must use to authenticate with the switch.
Apply Click this to save your settings to the switch.

Community ID Select the SNMP community you want to edit.
Create New
Community
Click this to configure a new SNMP community.
Community ID This field indicates the community number. It is used for identification only. Click on
the individual community number to edit the community settings.
