ATEN Technology CN-5000 Network Card User Manual

IP Address Determination
If you are an administrator logging in for the first time, you need to access
the CN-5000 in order to give it an IP address that users can connect to. There
are three methods to choose from. In each case, your computer must be on
the same network segment as the CN-5000. If the CN-5000’s address was set
by DHCP, Method 3 will show you what the DHCP assigned address is.
After you have connected and logged in you can give the CN-5000 its fixed
network address in the Network Settings dialog box (see p. 17). If you want
to have the CN-5000’s address set by DHCP and the address changes, use
Method 3 to determine the new address.
Method 1: (For a fixed IP address)
When the CN-5000 starts, if it doesn’t find a DHCP environment after 30
seconds, it automatically sets its IP address to 192.168.0.60.
1. Set your computer’s IP address to 192.168.0.XXX
Where XXX represents any number or numbers except 60.
2. Specify the switch’s default IP address (192.168.0.60) in the URL entry
box of your browser.
3. After you connect and log in, assign a fixed IP address for the CN-5000
that is suitable for the network segment that it resides on.
4. After you log out, be sure to reset your computer’s IP address to its
original value.
