Basic Queue-based Printing (Pure IP)
Axis print servers with software version 6.0 or later allow users to print
in a Pure IP environment using traditional queue-based printing. If
you prefer using NDPS as your printing method, please refer to Setup
using NDPS, on page 45.
In the NetWare Pure IP environment, you must use the NetWare
Administrator to create the printer, print server and queue objects.
Installing the
AXIS 540/640
Follow the instructions below to install the AXIS 540/640 in the
NetWare Pure IP environment:
1. Start the Configuration Wizard from the User mode in the AXIS
540/640 Web interface.
2. Click your way through the Wizard until reaching the NetWare
page. Make sure that the PSERVER_NDS parameter is set. If you
want to change the parameter value or if the parameter value is
empty, enter the desired values. The parameter value must include
the tree or the preferred file server you want to login to and the
print server name including the context. The syntax of the
PSERVER_NDS parameter is described in PSERVER_NDS
parameter, on page 53.
3. Use NetWare Administrator to create and link the printer, print
server and queue objects in the NDS tree.
4. Use the Add Printer Wizard to install the printer on your client.
Note that only NDS queue based PSERVER printing is
supported.
Any configuration and management of the AXIS 540/640 can be
performed from any standard Web browser. Please refer to Using a Web
browser, on page 109.
In Pure IP environments, the AXIS 540/640 supports NDS queue
based PSERVER printing or NDPS printing. Refer to Queue-based
Printing Methods, on page 54 alternatively Setup using NDPS, on page
45.
