Installing the system top cover
Prerequisites
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only
perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as
directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is
not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions
that came with the product.
1. Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.
2. Keep the #2 Phillips screwdriver ready.
Steps
1. Align the tabs on the top cover with the notches inside the system left side cover.
2. Insert the tabs on the top cover inside the system left cover.
3. Slide the cover toward the back of the system until the screw holes on the cover aligns with the slots
on the chassis.
4. Secure the cover onto the chassis using the screws.
Next steps
1. Close the system.
2. Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached
peripherals.
