Links guide you to sections where you can find more detailed information on the
individual steps:
Ê First of all, it is essential that you familiarize yourself with the safety infor-
mation in the “Important information” on page 21 chapter.
Ê Unpack the system, check the contents of the package for visible transport
damage and check whether the delivery agrees with the details in the
delivery note (see “Unpacking the server” on page 34).
Ê The server includes loose parts. Keep these parts in a safe place. They are
designed to be used for installing optional components at a later time.
Ê Transport the server to the place where you want to install it
Ê Make sure that all necessary manuals (see “Additional server documen-
tation” on page 8) are available; print out the PDF files if required.
Ê Mount the server into the rack (see “Installing/removing the server in/from
the rack” on page 35).
Ê Wire the server. To do this, refer to sections “Connecting devices to the
server” on page 45 and “Notes on connecting/disconnecting cables” on
page 48.
Ê Connect the system to the line voltage (see “Connecting the server to the
mains” on page 47).
Ê Make yourself familiar with the operating and indicator elements on the front
and on the rear side of the server (see “Controls and displays” on page 49).
