Basic copying instructions
This section provides the basic instructions for copying. The paper size is automatically detected when the document is
placed on the scanner glass or in the ADF. You can override the auto-detect feature by specifying the required input (Describe
Original) and output (Copy Settings) at the control panel.
Copying using the default settings (one-touch copying)
The default settings for copying are:
z Number of copies: One
z Size: Letter-size original and letter-size copy
Note The product automatically detects the original paper size and makes a same-size copy. The factory default paper-size
setting is Letter or A4 only if no paper is detected.
z Page Orientation: Portrait
z Number of Sides: One-sided copying
z Page Content: Mixed
z Job Mode: Off
z Heavy Paper: Off
To make copies using the default settings
1 Place the document face down on the scanner glass or in the ADF.
