Troubleshooting
Phenomena that may be easily mistaken for machine defects (continued)
Phenomenon Cases not involving a machine defect
No pictures are
output.
Colors have
a faded-out
appearance, or
Color tone is poor.
Pictures appear
dark.
Pictures appear
blurry.
Signal source does not work correctly.
Correctly set up the signal source device by referring to the manual
for the source device.
The brightness is adjusted to an extremely low level.
Adjust the BRIGHTNESS (27, 33, 37) to a higher level using the
menu function or the remote control.
The computer cannot detect the projector as a plug and play
monitor.
Confirm that the computer can detect a plug and play monitor using
another plug and play monitor (16).
If the connected PC has a HDMI output, the driver software of
the HDMI board is too old.
Consult with your PC dealer to install new software.
The signal source cannot output both a HDMI signal and a VGA
signal simultaneously.
Disconnect the VGA connection when you use the HDMI input
(14, 15).
If the output signal can be selected on the PC, it is not selected
properly.
Check the settings. Select the digital output for HDMI connection.
Color settings are not correctly adjusted.
Perform picture adjustments by changing the COLOR TEMP (39),
COLOR (27, 33, 40), TINT (33, 40) and COLOR SPACE (45).
COLOR SPACE setting is not suitable.
Change the COLOR SPACE (
45).
The brightness or contrast is adjusted to an extremely low level.
Adjust the BRIGHTNESS (27, 33, 37) and CONTRAST (27,
33, 37) to a higher level.
The WHISPER function is enabled.
Set the WHISPER item (48) in the SETUP menu to normal.
The lamp is approaching the end of its product lifetime.
Replace the lamp (53, 57).
Either the focus or horizontal phase setting is not properly
adjusted.
Check and adjust the focus (22), and H PHASE (44).
The lens is dirty or fogged.
Clean the lens according to the directions in “Lens” (60).
