Setting up the DCS-932L for Use Behind a Router
InstallingaDCS-932LNetworkCameraonyournetworkisaneasy4–stepprocedure:
1. Assign a local IP address to your network camera.
2.ViewthenetworkcamerausingyourInternetExplorerwebbrowser.
3.Accesstherouterwithyourwebbrowser.
4.Openvirtualserverportstoenableremoteimageviewing.
Note: These are manual steps; however, if you decide to use the wizard, it will perform every step automatically.
Thissectionisdesignedtowalkyouthroughthesetupprocessforinstallingyourcamerabehindarouterandenableremotevideoviewing.For
thebasicsetupoftheDCS-932L,followthestepsoutlinedintheQuickInstallationGuide.
AfteryouhavecompletedthesetupoftheDCS-932LoutlinedintheQuickInstallationGuideyouwillhaveanoperatingcamerathathasanassigned
IPAddress.BecauseyouareusingaroutertosharetheInternetwithoneormorePCs,theIPAddressassignedtotheNetworkCamerawillbea
localIPAddress.ThisallowsviewingwithinyourLocalAreaNetwork(LAN)untiltherouterisconguredtoallowremoteviewingofthecamera
over the Internet.
