Command Enable/disable RIP receive function on channels
using PPP over ATM encapsulation in bridged
mode
Description Specifies whether the Nokia M10 should use Routing
information protocol (RIP) broadcasts to update its rout-
ing tables with information received from other routers
on the other side of the specified ATM link using PPP
over ATM encapsulation in bridged mode.
Syntax set ip wan {vccx} rip-receive [off | v1 | v2 | v1-compat]
Arguments The first argument identifies the ATM channel (vccx, x =
1 ... 8). If there is only one ATM channel using PPP
over ATM encapsulation in bridged mode you can leave
the argument vccx out. Both RIP version 1 and RIP
version 2 functionalities can be simultaneously acti-
vated. v1-compat argument enables the receiving of
both RIPv1 and RIPv2 packets. RIP cannot be acti-
vated if address mapping is ON.
Example m10> set ip wan vcc2 rip-receive off
Command Enable/disable the management through channels
using PPP over ATM encapsulation
Description Enables/disables the management of Nokia M10
through the specified ATM link using PPP over ATM en-
capsulation.
Syntax set ip wan {vccx} admin-disable [on|off]
Arguments The first argument identifies the ATM channel (vccx, x =
1 ... 8). If there is only one ATM channel using PPP
over ATM encapsulation in bridged mode you can leave
the argument vccx out. The second argument dis-
ables/enables management through ATM channel
using PPP-vcmux encapsulation.
Example m10> set ip wan vcc2 admin-disable on
Static route settings
A static route identifies a manually configured pathway to a remote
network. Unlike dynamic routes, which are acquired and confirmed
periodically from other routers, static routes do not time out.
Consequently, static routes are useful when working with PPP, since
an intermittent PPP link may make maintenance of dynamic routes
problematic.
