If your unit cannot send a fax, check the
following:
– The number you dialled is correct.
– The other party’s machine is a facsimile.
If the problem remains, correct it by
following the communication message
printed on the sending and journal reports
(page 38).
COMMUNICATION ERROR
(Code: 41-72, FF)
L A transmission or reception error
occurred. Try again or check with the
other party.
DOCUMENT JAMMED
L The document is jammed. Remove the
jammed document (page 82).
ERROR-NOT YOUR UNIT
(Code: 53, 54, 59, 70)
L A transmission or reception error
occurred because of a problem with the
other party’s fax machine. Check with the
other party.
MEMORY FULL
L The document was not received as a
result of the memory being full.
NO DOCUMENT
L The document was not fed into the unit
properly. Reinsert the document and try
again.
OTHER FAX NOT RESPONDING
L The other party’s fax machine is busy or
has run out of recording paper. Try again.
L The document was not fed properly.
Reinsert the document and try again.
L The other party’s fax machine rings too
many times. Send the fax manually
(page 37).
L The other party’s machine is not a
facsimile. Check with the other party.
L The number you dialled is not in service.
PAPER JAMMED
L The recording paper is jammed. Clear
the jammed paper (page 83).
PAPER OUT
L The unit has run out of recording paper.
Install a recording paper roll (page 21).
L The cover was opened. Close it and try
again.
PRESSED THE STOP KEY
L{STOP} was pressed and fax
communication was cancelled.
PRINTER OVERHEATED
L The printer overheated. Let the unit cool
down.
THE COVER WAS OPENED
L The cover was opened. Close it and try
again.
OK
L Fax communication was successful.
