Front Panel Messages
When an error interferes with printing, you will see a message on the front
panel. The following table lists the messages in alphabetical order, with the
appropriate corrective action for each one.
NOTE:
If the message indicates that you don’t have enough memory to finish
printing, you may need to install additional memory to handle your
workload. See “Installing additional memory” on page 199.
The following status messages cause the Ready indicator to blink. Printing
will continue when corrective action (if required) is taken, and the Ready
indicator is lit.

DIMM Slot %s
Cycle Power. If printer does not function
normally, call for service.
Black Toner Cartridge
Not installed
Install black toner cartridge.
Black Toner
Empty
Replace black toner.
Canceling Job When the Cancel/Left button is pressed, the
job currently being processed is deleted.
Cannot recover from JAM
Press Enter
Semi Automatic duplex is aborted by jam.
Charger
Not installed
Install the charger unit.
Controller Memory Error
Cycle Power
Cycle Power. If printer does not function
normally, call for service.
Cyan Toner Cartridge
Not installed
Install cyan toner cartridge.
Cyan Toner
Empty
Replace cyan toner.
DC Controller
Malfunction
Cycle Power. If the printer does not function
normally, call for service.
Disk File
Operation Failed
Hard disk is functioning abnormally. Cycle
Power. If printer does not function normally,
call for service.
