Configuring the Driver Parameters

where <options> is one of the configurable parameters listed in
Table 3-1 on page 3-8.
For example, the following command sets the maximum device queue depth
reported by the QLogic to a value of 32:
# esxcfg-module -s ql2xmaxqdepth=32 qla2xxx
3. To update the ESX RAMdisk image, execute following command:
# esxcfg-boot -b
4. For the preceding changes to take effect, reboot the server as follows:
# reboot
Table 3-1 lists alphabetically all the QLogic driver configurable parameters and
provides a brief description of each.
NOTE:
All configuration changes made using the esxcfg-module -s command
are persistent, meaning that the configuration changes will be saved across
system reboots.
Table 3-1. Configurable Driver Parameters
Driver Parameter Description
ql2xallocfwdump Option to enable allocation of memory for a firmware dump dur-
ing adapter initialization. Memory allocation requirements vary by
ISP type. 0 = memory not allocated (default).
ql2xcmdtimeout Timeout value in seconds for scsi command. Default is 20.
ql2xenablemsi
Enables MSI-X/MSI interrupt scheme. Default is 0 = disable
MSI-X/MSI; 1 = enable MSI-X/MSI.
ql2xexectuion_throttle
IOCB exchange count for adapter. Default is 0; set intended
value to override firmware defaults.
ql2xextended_error_logging Option to enable extended error logging. 0 = no logging (default);
1 = log errors.
ql2xiidmaenable Enables iIDMA settings. Default is 1 = perform iIDMA; 0 = no
iIDMA.
ql2xintrdelaytimer Waiting time for firmware before it generates an interrupt to the
host to notify completion of request.
ql2xioctltimeout Ioctl timeout value in seconds for pass-through commands.
Default is 66.
