When you enter a destination via a
gateway (G3 fax connected to the
public telephone line, etc.) into the
Address Book or Destination List,
you must specify its terminal tele-
phone number. In case of transmit-
ting to G3 Fax using IP-Fax, and
when you are not using the SIP
server/gatekeeper, it is necessary
to register the gateways. See p.148
IP-Fax Settings, Facsimile Refer-
ence <Advanced Features> .
When you specify a destination
with IP-Fax, depending on the re-
ceivers network configuration,
you may need to specify the IP ad-
dress and number of the receiving
machine. For example, if the re-
ceivers IP address is 192.168.
1.10 and the port number is
2100, specify 192.168.1.10:
2100. Ask the network adminis-
trator for details.
When you specify a host name, de-
pending on the receivers network
configuration, you may need to
specify the host name and port
number of the receiving machine.
For example, if the receivers host
name is tokyo.abc.co.jpand the
port number is 2100, specify to-
kyo.abc.co.jp. Ask the network
administrator for details.
An alias telephone number is a tel-
ephone number available in the
network registered in the gate-
keeper.
Pay attention to the number of tel-
ephone number digits set in the
gateway/IP-address conversion
table to avoid transmission error.
