Troubleshooting
Solving Printing Problems
If you have any problems with the operation of your QwikLaser 6100,
refer to Table 5.1 for suggested remedies.
Problem
The printer does
not print.
Paper is not fed
into the printer.
Possible Cause Remedy
Your printer is not selected as the
default printer.
Select Samsung 6100 Series PCL6,
Samsung 6100 Series PCL5e, or
Samsung 6100 Series PS a your
default printer. See the section
“Selecting Your Printer” (page 4.2).
The top cover may be open. Make sure that all covers are closed
securely.
The printer cable is not connected
properly.
Check all connections.
The toner cartridge is not installed
properly.
Remove and reinsert the toner
cartridge.
The printer may be configured
incorrectly.
Check the application to make sure
that all print settings are correct.
Paper has not been loaded correctly. Remove the paper tray and reload
the paper correctly.
The printer ejects
blank pages .
The toner cartridge is out of toner. Replace the toner cartridge.
There is too much paper in the paper
tray.
Remove some of the paper from the
tray.
The printer driver may be incorrectly
installed.
Uninstall the printer driver, then
reinstall the printer driver. Try printing
a configuration sheet.
A paper jam has occurred. Clear the paper jam.
The printer cable is defective. Swap the cable with one known to
work. If printing is now possible,
replace the bad cable.
The port setting is incorrect. Check the Window printer setting to
make sure that the print job is being
sent to the correct port (for example,
LPT1).
