WhentheTVP5154detectsachangeintheinputvideostandard,itautomaticallyswitchestooperationin
thedetectedstandard(whichincludesallnecessaryI

Cregisterinitialization)forproperdecodingofthe
inputvideo.Toenableauto-switchontheTVP5154,theSetVideoStandardregistermustbesetto
auto-switchmode(Reg0x28=0x00).
IftheWinVCCauto-switchpollingfunctionisenabled,thedetectedvideostandardstatusfromthe
TVP5154ispolleduntilachangeintheinputvideostandard(orintheTVP5154samplingmode)is
detected.Whenachangeisdetected,thevideoencoderisreprogrammedasneededforthedetected
standard.Usingthisfeature,thevideosourcecanchangeitsvideostandardandthesystemdisplays
usingthenewstandard,withoutuserintervention.
WhenusingtheTVP5154EVMwiththeDM642andacompositeoutputfromthe7311encoder,itis
requiredtodisableauto-switchpollingbyclickingontheENABLEDbuttonintheReal-TimePollingdialog
boxasshowninFigure12.
Thereal-timepollingdialogcanalsobeaccessedonceWinVCCisupandrunningbyclickingReal-Time
PollingintheToolsmenu.
