Specifying Port Access
To restrict access to a port by specifying the physical address that is
authorized to connect to the port:
1 Select the number of the port you want to control
access to by clicking once on a row containing that
port number.
For example, to specify access to port number 3, click on a
row entry that contains a Port ID of 3.
2 Click Modify.
The Modify Dialog box appears.
3 Type the MAC address that is authorized to connect to
this port in the Address field.
4 Determine the status of the address by opening the
Address Status drop-down menu and selecting one
of the following options:
nonPermanent — sets the address to be a
non-permanent entry in the table; the IP
address is deleted after the specified aging time
or when the device is reset or powered off.
permanent — sets the address to be a perma-
nent entry in the table; the IP address is not
deleted regardless of time or power off/reset.
5 Determine the priority of the address by opening the
Address Priority drop-down menu and selecting one
of the following options:
normalPriority — sets the address to filter
normally through the device.
highPriority — sets the address to filter at a
high priority through the device.
6 Click Apply.
Access for the port is configured. To view updated infor-
mation, click Refresh.
