4.8 Spanning Tree
4.8.1 STP Bridge Settings
Function name: STP Bridge Settings
Function description: Spanning Tree can prevent network loops. For RING connections, you need to enable Spanning
Tree to prevent loops. The Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is a standard method (IEEE 802.1D) used to prevent loops in
switched networks. When STP is enabled, make sure that only one path is active between any two nodes on the network
at a time. You can enable Spanning Tree Protocol on the switch’s web management and then set up other advanced
items. We recommend that you enable STP on all switches to ensure a single active path on the network.
Parameter description:
STP Mode: Select the STP mode. This switch supports STP, RSTP (Rapid STP), and disable.
