Checking Your Operating
Environment
Your computer system must meet the following conditions to use the CR-180II.
One of the following operating systems:
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional SP4 or later
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 or later
• Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition SP2 or later
• Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic/Home Premium/Business/Ultimate/
Enterprise SP1 or later
A computer that meets the following specifications:
• CPU: Intel Celeron 733 MHz or faster
• Memory: 256 MB or more
• Hard disk: 100 MB or more available space
• USB 2.0 interface or SCSI cards
• Monitor: Resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA) or better recommended.
Interface card
Use the USB interface that is standard equipment on your computer or use one
of the SCSI cards recommended for this machine.
SCSI cards made by Adaptec (for PCI bus)
• AHA-2930U
• AHA-2940AU
• AHA-19160
• AHA-29160
SCSI card made by Adaptec (for Card bus)
• APA-1480
Interface cable
Use the cable provided or a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface cable to connect to
the computer’s USB port.
To use the SCSI card for the connections, check the shape of the connector on
the SCSI card and use a SCSI cable with connectors that can be connected to
the scanner. The scanner’s SCSI connector is a half-pitch 50-pin (pin type)
connector.
Either an ISIS (compatible) or a TWAIN (compatible) application that
operates on one of the operating systems noted above.
