Crown
A multitasking operating system architecture developed by QMS and used
in the QMS 4525 printer.
Daughterboard
A printed circuit board that attaches to another circuit board (often the main
system board, or motherboard) to provide additional functionality or
performance.
DECnet
A software protocol developed by the Digital Equipment Corporation for
communication between computers.
Default
The value or setting built into a system or program. Default settings can
usually be changed. See also

Document
A file created with an application. A document can be either text or graphics
or a combination of text and graphics.
DOS
Disk Operating System, a program that instructs a disk-based
microcomputing system to schedule and supervise work, manage
computer resources, and operate and control peripheral devices.
Dot
The smallest element of a display surface that can be independently
assigned color or intensity. Also known as a
pixel
.
Download
Transfer information from one device to another.
dpi
Dots Per Inch, a measurement unit used to indicate printer resolution. This
printer has a 300 dpi resolution.
