Consoles
Remote consoles (Telnet and DECnet) and a dedicated local con-
sole (RS-232C serial) provide job status and font information to
any user who has the capability to send and cancel print jobs.
The system administrator uses the consoles for printer configura-
tion and file system management. Refer to the
QMS Crown
Remote Console Manual
for more information.
Host Software
Host Software permits easy integration into UNIX host environ-
ments.
Controlling and Configuring the
Printer
There are three ways to configure and control the printer:
Control panel
Local and remote consoles
PS Executive Series Utilities
Convenient Control Panel Operation
The printer control panel allows you to configure the printer to your
specific printing needs. The printer also uses the control panel to
communicate with you by providing messages about its status, includ-
ing any conditions that require your attention. These messages can
be displayed in English, French, or German. The following is a brief
introduction to the control panel.
