V CAUTION!
Follow the safety instructions in the chapter "Safety instructions" on
page 31.
This section provides information on:
"Replacing the local service display" on page 248
The ServerView Local Service Display on the front panel of the server
enables you to check the status of the key system components at any time
without opening the housing. For information on the functions provided by
the ServerView Local Service Display see the associated documentation.
"Replacing the chassis ID board" on page 252
The chassis ID board provides two functions:
FRU-PROM information for identification the system, that is Product
Model Name, Product Part Number, and Chassis Serial Number
Temperature sensor for monitoring the ambient temperature
The functions are essential to monitor the temperature correctly, enable
ServerView to display the correct system picture, and to install the server
using ServerStart. BIOS/BMC configuration data is kept on the EEPROM on
the power distribution board. The data for the EEPROM and the current
temperature values are transmitted to the baseboard via the I
2
C bus.
Authorized personnel
Authorized specialist personnel can carry out replacement tasks for
integral server components. Ask you local Fujitsu service center for
more detailed information.
V CAUTION!
Procedures indicated as "Authorized personnel only“ must be
done by Fujitsu service personnel or technicians trained by
Fujitsu for doing these tasks. Please note that unauthorized
interference with the system will void the warranty and exempt the
manufacturer from all liability.
