Remove the feet.
To replace the component, slide it back into the locking slot. Be sure that the foot clicks securely into the
chassis. Repeat with the remaining feet, as necessary.
SAS hard drive blank
CAUTION: For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles,
expansion slot covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize
the amount of time the access panel is open.
Remove the component as indicated.
To replace the blank, slide the blank into the bay until it locks into place.
SAS/SATA hard drive
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
To remove the component:
1. Determine the status of the drive from the hot-plug SAS hard drive LED combinations ("SAS and SATA
hard drive LED combinations" on page 94).
