NOTE:
The DON’T ERASE logical disk supports the recovery process only and does not host the secondary
operating system. If you need to perform a sy stem recovery for your server, see the instructions inside t he
HP ProLiant Storage Server System Installation and Recovery DVD. Be sure to back up your user data,
and then use the DVD to r estore the server to the factory default state.
Data volumes are not carved at the factory or by the System Installation and Recovery DVD, and must be
congu
redmanuallybytheenduser.
If the o
perating system has a failure that might result from corrupt system les, a corrupt registry, or the
syste
m hangs during boot, refer to "System installation and recovery" on page 143.
Be sure to back up your user data, and then use the System Installation and Recovery DVD to restore the
server to the factory default state as soon as conveniently possible.
