6.4 Replacing the Maintenance Kit D (Separation Charger Unit)
Note
The following procedure is not necessary for European countries and Australia.
The separation charger unit needs to be replaced after every 100,000 pages of printing. When
the printer displays the message Install MK [D] (ATTENTION indicator flashes),
replace the separation charger unit as follows.

Open the front cover.

Grasp the handle at the end of the paper feed unit and pull the unit out completely.

Remove the old separation charger unit from the secondary transfer unit. When you
pull the projecting pin on the front end of the separation charger unit towards you as
shown, the back end of the separation charger unit lifts up. Hold the back end of the
separation charger unit to remove it.
