Step 1
(from Steps 3, 7, 8, 9, and 14)
1. Ensure that the diagnostics and the operating system are shut down.
2. Turn the key mode switch to the Service position.
3. Set the power switch on the system unit to Off.
4. Insert the first diagnostic diskette into the diskette drive.
5. Set the power switch on the system unit to On.
6. Find the symptom in the following table that best matches the symptom on your system,
and then perform the associated task.

the duplicate diskette
causes the same symp-
tom, Go to Step 7.
299 or less Digits on solid for more than 3 minutes,
and the power light is on.
Go to Step 2.
300 or greater Digits on solid for more than 3 minutes,
and the power light is on.
Go to Step 7.
570 Digits on solid for more than 3 minutes,
and the power light is on.
Down level SCSI-2 code.
Run diagnostics with re-
movable media.
Any symptom not listed above. Go to Step 2.
