Select the choice, “D” for Host Functionality; this sets the controller to operate in Win-
dows NT mode. This choice is required for the controller to operate correctly with Win-
dows NT. Refer to the release notes for this product for more information.
• Go to the bottom of the window and enter a value of 5 for the Cache Flush
Timer/Timers.
NOTE
It is
mandatory
that you select choice “D” for Host Functionality for
the SWXRC-04 controller to operate correctly with Windows NT
. It
is also mandatory
that the Cache Flush Timer/Timers be set to 5.
Click on OK after making the above selections.

At this point, your initial set up procedure is complete. You may now configure your system
using the RAID Manager graphical user interface. The RAID Manager graphical user inter-
face facilitates the configuration process for you.
NOTE
You may not be able to create RAIDsets or mirrorsets if the write-
back cache batteries are not fully charged.
To check controller battery status, click on the Controller button at
the left of the window. Doing so brings up the Controller Status
display, which includes the battery status. When the battery status
shows “
good,”
you may continue and create your initial configura-
tion.
