There are four IDE submenus: primary master, primary slave, secondary master, and secondary
slave. Table 24 shows the format of the IDE submenus. For brevity, only one example is shown.

Drive Installed No options Displays the type of drive installed.
Type

Specifies the drive configuration.
User allows capabilities to be changed.
Auto fills-in capabilities from the device.
Maximum Capacity No options Displays the capacity of the drive. (SATA only)
LBA / Large Mode
• Disabled
• Auto (default)
This option can be changed only if User is selected as
the type.
Block Mode
• Disabled
• Auto (default)
This option can be changed only if User is selected as
the type.
PIO Mode
• Auto (default)

This option can be changed only if User is selected as

DMA Mode
• Auto (default)
• SWDMA 0, 1, or 2
• MWDMA 0, 1, or 2

SWDMA = Single Word DMA
MWDMA = Multi Word DMA
UDMA = Ultra DMA
