You can program a 2-second delay in any of these ways:
If the scanner is scanning and stops on an active channel, quickly
press DELAY before it starts to scan again.
If the desired channel is not selected, manually select the channel
then press DELAY.
If the scanner is searching, press DELAY during the search. DLY
appears on the display and the scanner automatically adds a 2-second
delay to every transmission it stops on.
To turn off delay, press DELAY when DLY is displayed.
LOCKING OUT CHANNELS AND FREQUENCIES
You can scan existing channels or search frequencies faster by locking out
channels or frequencies that have a continuous transmission, such as a
weather channel. You can lock out as many as 200 channels and frequencies
during a search.
To lock out a channel while scanning, press L/OUT when the scanner stops
on the channel. To lock out a channel manually, select the channel then
press L/OUT until L/O appears on the display.
Notes:
You can delete all the frequencies stored in locked-out channels
within a bank.
You can still manually select locked-out channels.
To remove the lockout from a channel, manually select the channel and
press L/OUT until L/O disappears from the display.
To lock out a frequency during a band, limit, or direct search, press
L/OUT when the scanner stops on the frequency. The scanner locks out the
frequency, then continues searching.
Notes:
The scanner does not store locked-out frequencies during a search.
You can lock out as many as 200 frequencies during a search.
If you try to lock out more, L-FULL appears on the display.
Follow these steps to remove the lockout from a frequency.
1. Press BAND or LIMIT or DIRECT/. to start a search.
2. Press L/O RVW. L-r appears on the display.
3. Repeatedly press Up or Down Arrow until the frequency you want to
remove the lockout from is displayed.
