This option lets you set a password to prevent
unauthorized access to the BIOS Utility.
Setting a Password
To set a password, follow these steps:
1. Highlight the Setup Password parameter and press
the left- or right-arrow key to display the password
prompt.
2. Type a password. The password may consist of up
to seven characters.
Be careful when typing your password
because the characters do not appear on the screen
when you type them.
3. Press [Enter]. Another prompt asks you to retype
the password to verify your first entry.
4. Retype the password, and press [Enter].
After setting the password, the system automatically
sets the Setup Password parameter to Present. The next
time you want to enter the BIOS Utility, you must key-
in your setup password. Write down your password
and keep it in a secure place.
If you forget your password, you have to reset the
configuration values stored in the BIOS Setup to their
default values. Ask your dealer for assistance.
This parameter allows you to set the system password.
