SecurityCenter in order to scan and remove viruses and to protect your computer from various threats on the
Internet.
Before You Start!
■WhenMcAfeeSecurityCenterisrunforthersttime,theRegistrationscreenappears.Registeraccordingtotheinstructionsonthe
screen.YouhavetoregisterthesoftwaretoprotectthePCwiththelatestsecurityinformation.
■IfyoucannotndMcAfeeSecurityCentericonontheTaskbarorashortcuticonontheDesktop,thendoubleclickMcAfeeWeb
Essentialsiconandinstalltheprogram.
■IfyouinstallMcAfeeSecurityCenterandanotheranti-virusprogram(e.g.NortonInternetSecurity,Kaspersky,etc)onthesame
computer,yourcomputerperformancemaybecomedegradedandyourcomputermaynotbeprotectedfromthreatsduetoa
conictbetweentheprograms.Itishighlyrecommendedinstallingonlyonesecurityprogram.
Scanning and Curing Viruses

Click Start > All Programs > McAfee > McAfee
SecurityCenter.

Click Scanfromtheleftpaneoftheprogram.

Ifavirusisfound,removethevirusaccordingtothe
instructionsonthescreen.

Ifavirusisfound,removethevirusaccordingtothe
instructionsoftheRestorationWizard.
Note
Toprotectyourselfagainstthelatestviruses,update
McAfeeSecurityCenterregularly.
Connect to the Internet and click the Update icon
( )toupdate.
