HOW TO USE THE FAX FUNCTION

Once you have set the document (either in the automatic document feeder or on the
original table), and have selected the desired transmission settings, you are ready to
dial the number of the receiving fax machine and transmit the document. You can choose
from one of the several ways of dialing that best suit your needs.
Direct Keypad Dialing
If the number of the fax you want to reach is not a Rapid key or Speed Dial number,
use Direct Keypad Dialing to manually enter it using the following procedure:

Confirm that you have correctly
set the document in the automatic
document feeder or on the
original table. (See “Setting the
Document” in this chapter)

Enter the number of the fax
machine you want to send to by
pressing the number keys.

Check the display. If the number
of the receiving machine is shown
correctly, press the FAX START
key.
• If it is not correct, press the STOP
key to backspace and clear one
digit at a time, and then enter the
correct number.
