2.2 Using a DSL Modem with a Static IP
Address
From the Gateway’s Basic Setup screen, select the DSL
Modem (Static IP Address) button and then click
View/Configure WAN Settings. A screen displays with
several fields to fill in.
WAN IP Address
Type the IP address your service provider has
given you.
WAN Subnet Mask
Type the mask your service provider has
given you.
WAN Gateway
Type your service provider’s Gateway IP
address. Assigned by your service provider.
Primary DNS*
Domain Name Server IP address. Assigned
by your service provider.
Secondary DNS*
Backup Domain Name Server IP address.
Assigned by your service provider.
*
Primary and Secondary DNS addresses are the addresses of the initial
server and the backup server assigned to request a Web-name-to-IP-
address lookup, respectively. Note: If you set these addresses as
0.0.0.0, they will be automatically assigned.
Once you have filled in all the information, click Save (and
Restart if you are prompted to do so).
