5.1 Managing the System
This section discusses the following tasks needed to manage the system information of the IntraCore 39240/480:
• Setting the System Clock
• Configuring the Host name
• Changing the Password
• Testing Connections with Ping Commands
• Tracing Packet Routes
• Enabling Syslog
• Displaying the Operating Configuration
5.1.1 Setting the System Clock
The IntraCore 39240/480has a battery-backed system clock that is accurate even after a system restart.
To manually set the system clock, complete the following commands in privileged
configuration mode. Use a space and a question mark (?) to display the clock set
options. Save after configuring the clock by typing save at the switch# prompt.

daylight Enable or disable the daylight saving configuration
localtime Configure the local time
server
timezone
Switch(Config)# sntp localtime
enable Enable local time
localtime_date Set local time
Switch(Config)# sntp localtime localtime_date
