Log in to the NMS Desktop
Login to the Desktop on the Network Management System (NMS) network server to
execute Auto-Discovery.
Required
materials
Before you start, you need the NMS system name (uname - n).
Procedure Complete the procedure below to log-in to the Desktop in either the OpenView or
NetView platform.
1 In a UNIX console window, set up DNM environment:
• Type . /etc/avaya/DEFINITY/ENV
•Press
ENTER
Result: The system displays the UNIX prompt.
2 Start the NMS user interface:
a For OpenView:
–Type
$OV_BIN/ovw&
–Press ENTER
b
For NetView:
–Type
$OV_BIN/nv6000
–Press ENTER
