To verify that the cluster resources are online, perform the following steps on the
monitoring cluster node:
1. Click the Start button and select Programs—> Administrative Tools—> Cluster
Administrator.
2. Open a connection to the cluster and check the running state of each recovery
group. If a group has failed, one or more of its resources may be offline.
Troubleshooting the failed resources is beyond the scope of this document, but exam-
ining the properties of each resource and ensuring that the specified parameters are
correct are the first two steps in this process. In general, if a resource is offline, it can
be brought online by selecting it, right-clicking it, and selecting Bring Online from the
pulldown menu. For information about troubleshooting resource failures, see the
Microsoft Cluster Service help files.
Configuring the Dell OpenManage
Manage Node (Data Agent) for a Cluster
Environment
The following procedure provides the necessary steps to configure your Dell
OpenManage Managed Node (Data Agent) for clustering.
To configure the Dell OpenManage Managed Node (Data Agent) in a cluster, perform
the following steps:
1. Op en t he Agent Configurator.
2. In the Host Description field, type the description of the server.
3. In the Contact Person field, type the name of the contact person (optional).
4. Click the Enable Cluster Support check box to enable the new cluster support
functionality.
5. In the Devices pulldown menu, click Auto-Detect.
This selection forces the Agent Configurator to discover the RAID configuration
of the storage subsystem.
6. In the Privileged Users field, type the name(s) of the privileged user(s).
7. In the File pulldown menu, click Save to save the new configuration.
Configuring the Data Agent for Cluster
Failover
The Dell OpenManage Managed Node (Data Agent) should be installed as a cluster
resource and managed by the Cluster Service so only one Data Agent is running at
