PPPoA Connections
Although the protocols differ significantly, from the viewpoint of the ADSL client,
there is little difference between the two variations of PPP connections. The
values that must be entered for PPPoA connections are the same as those you
would enter for PPPoE connections. To configure the Router using for a PPPoA
connection, follow the instructions below.
1. After you have changed the Connection Type to PPPoA, click on the PPPoA
Configuration button in the main menu to bring up the window displayed
below:

2. Under PPPoA Login, enter the Login User Name used for your network
account. The user name and login password, are used to authenticate the
identity of the ADSL client and provide access to the service provider’s
network. The user name and login password can be any combination of up to
64 characters.
3. Enter the Login Password.
4. Unless you are instructed to use a different Authentication method, leave
the default chap protocol selected. The alternative method, pap, can be
selected from the pull-down menu if required by the service provider.
5. Change the Connect on Demand option to enabled in the pull-down menu.
6. Leave Idle Time set to the default value 0.
7. Under PVC, enter the VPI and VCI values for the Router.
8. Proceed to the Changing the User Name and Password and Saving Changes
sections in this chapter.
