Epson Photo EX Printer User Manual

Troubleshooting
6-15
You cannot print on a Windows NT 4.0 network
You’re using background
printing on a Macintosh.
Select EPSON Monitor3 and choose Get Info from the File menu
to increase the Memory Requirements for EPSON Monitor3. See
page 4-16 for more information. If that doesn’t work, turn off
background printing (you won’t be able to use EPSON Monitor3).
You’re not using ECP mode
and/or DMA transfers.
If your computer supports ECP mode and/or DMA transfers, turn
them on to speed up printing. See your computer documentation
for details.
Possible cause Solution
Your printer is not set up
correctly as a remote
printer.
Be sure the printer software for Windows NT 4.0 is installed on
your computer. Then follow these steps:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and select Printers.
2. Right-click your printer icon and click Properties.
3. Select a printer port other than lpt1 in the Port menu.
4. From the DOS prompt, type the network path to your printer,
for example, c:\net use lpt2: \\epserver\printer
where lpt2: is your port, epserver is your print server, and
printer is your printer name.
5. Press the Enter key.
6. Restart your computer.
To cancel this setting, type /d instead of the network path to your
printer in step 4, for example, c:\net use lpt2: /d.
