2-4 Using Print Cartridges and Different Paper Types
Paper Specifications
The way you feed paper (through the tray or through the document feeder)
dictates which kind of paper you can use. The following are the valid paper
types for each method.
Paper tray
16- to 24-lb (60- to 90-g/m

) range
Plain paper (white and color) and letterhead
HP Premium Inkjet Paper
HP Premium Glossy Paper
HP Premium Transparency Film
Automatic document feeder
16- to 28-lb (60- to 135-g/m
2
) range
Plain paper (white and colored) and letterhead
HP Premium Inkjet Paper

ANT Do not load glossy paper, photo paper, or transparency film in the automatic document feeder.
Papers to Avoid
These papers can cause a paper jam or adversely affect copy quality:
Paper heavier than 24 lb (90 g/m

) or lighter than 16 lb (60 g/m
2
) in the
lower paper tray. The automatic document feeder can accept paper up to
28 lbs (105 g/m
2
).
Paper with cutouts or perforations.
Multiple-part forms.
Inkjet or glossy paper other than HP Bright White Inkjet, Premium Inkjet, or
Premium Glossy Paper.
Transparency film other than HP Premium Transparency Film.
Any size paper other than Letter, Legal, or A4.
Label stock or envelopes.
