on but do not turn
off.
The Power light is
on, but POST will
not run.
Disconnect the interface cable from the printer and
turn the printer off and then on. If POST now runs
correctly, the problem is in the computer or
interface cable.

Symptom Action
During POST,
abnormal noise
comes from the
carrier.
Check the ribbon cartridge for binds or damage.

During idling,
abnormal noise
comes from the
printer.
When feeding paper,
