A busy tone is heard when
{C} is pressed.
L The handset is too far from the base unit. Move closer and try
again.
L The base unit or another handset is on an outside call. Wait for the
other user to complete the call.
Static, sound cuts in/out,
fades. Interference from
other electrical units.
L Move the handset and the base unit away from other electrical
appliances.
L Move closer to the base unit.
L For Australian users:
Your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL service. We
recommend connecting a filter (contact your ADSL service
provider) to the telephone line between the base unit and the
telephone line jack.
For New Zealand users:
Your unit is connected to a telephone line with ADSL (JetStream)
service. We recommend that you contact your ADSL service
provider to have an ADSL Splitter installed. We do not recommend
the use of generic ADSL filters.
Noise is heard during a
call.
L You are using the handset or base unit in an area with high
electrical interference. Locate the handset and base unit away from
interference sources, such as antenna and mobile phones.
The handset stops
working while being used.
L Disconnect the power cord and turn OFF the handset to reset the
unit. Connect the power cord, turn ON the handset and try again.
While storing an item in
the phonebook or
assigning a one touch
dial, the handset starts to
ring.
L To answer a call, press {C} or {s}. Storing will be cancelled.
Store the name and number again.
I cannot redial by
pressing {R}.
L If the redialled number was more than 24 digits long, the number
will not be redialled. Redial the number manually.
7 flashes or the
handset beeps
intermittently while it is in
use.
L Fully charge the batteries (page 22).
I fully charged the
batteries, but 7 still
flashes.
L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 22).
L It is time to replace the batteries (page 20).
I cannot receive
documents using the
handset.
L The memory is full of received documents due to a lack of
recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper (page 19)
or clear the jammed paper (page 98).
I cannot make a call with
the handset.
L The call bar feature is set. Turn it OFF (page 77).
L You dialled a call restricted number. Remove the number from the
call restricted list (page 79).
L The key lock feature is turned ON. Turn it OFF (page 30).
